Debian 4.0 (Etch) 是一個不再受支持的舊版本：

Debian GNU/Linux 4.0 已被 Debian GNU/Linux 5.0（“lenny”）取代。自 2010 年 2 月起，安全更新已停止。

Etch 現在已移至 archive.debian.org：

我們打算在 6 月 20 日星期日晚上 (UTC) 將 Etch 複製到 archive.debian.org。然後蝕刻將逐漸從鏡子中消失；dists 樹將立即被刪除，池中的文件將在接下來的幾天內分組刪除。

Etch 現在已從 ftp.uk.debian.org 中刪除。您可以通過將 sources.list 更改為：
